Weldon In Action invites you to a full day of celebration on Saturday, November 1, 2025, honoring the stories, people, and history that make our town so special. From film premieres to ribbon cuttings, this day is all about community, connection, and pride in our shared heritage.
🎬 Morning Event: The Current of Time – An Oral History of Weldon
🕙 10:00 a.m. | Griffin Center Gallery, Halifax Community College
Join us for the premiere of The Current of Time: An Oral History of Weldon, a heartfelt documentary sharing the voices of thirty Weldon residents and former residents. This film brings to life the memories, challenges, and triumphs that have shaped our town over the years.
Meet some of the incredible individuals who play a role in the film and help us celebrate Weldon’s vibrant history through storytelling and community reflection.
Afternoon Event: Ralph J. Bunche Park Ribbon Cutting
🕑 2:00 p.m. | First and Water Streets, Weldon
The celebration continues in the afternoon with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Ralph J. Bunche Park. Join us as we celebrate the past and look forward to the future with music, refreshments, and family-friendly activities. This beautiful park honors the legacy of education, community, and perseverance that defines Weldon.

The cost is $20 per person, and RSVP is required by October 25th.
