Honoring Weldon’s History & Legacy | September 19
Join Weldon In Action on Saturday, September 19 at 2:00 PM at Ralph J. Bunche Park, located at the intersection of First and Water Streets in Weldon, for a special memorial marker unveiling.
We will honor Dr. McMillian and Dock and Helen Brown—pillars of the Weldon community whose lives and contributions are an important part of the history and legacy of Ralph J. Bunche School.
Their families will be on hand for the unveiling and to share their stories and history. The program will also include local officials, family members, and special guests.
Refreshments will be served. We invite the community to come enjoy the park, learn more about Weldon’s history, and join us in celebrating the lasting legacy of these remarkable individuals.
Volunteers are needed! We are looking for help with setup, refreshments, parking, and breakdown.

PLANT THE PARK | October 3rd
Join Weldon In Action for Plant the Park, a morning of fall maintenance, planting, and sprucing up our community park!

We’ll be refreshing the park for the season, completing some planting, and tackling general maintenance to keep this community space looking its best.
Volunteers are needed, so bring your gloves and join us for a morning of working together and giving back to Weldon.

Join Weldon In Action for the third Irvin Francis Kyle III Speaker Series on Wednesday, October 15, featuring Holli from the Wilmington Railroad Museum. Holli will present the fascinating history of the Weldon-to-Wilmington Railroad and explore how Weldon's railroad heritage helped shape the town's growth and significance throughout North Carolina.
Refreshments will be served beginning promptly at 5:30 PM, followed by the presentation. Whether you're a history enthusiast, railroad buff, or simply interested in learning more about Weldon's rich past, this is an event you won't want to miss.

The church is on the left just past Big Al’s as you come into town. Parking lot entrances are available from both 3rd Street and Second Street.

Join Us for Our July Community Meeting
Our next Weldon In Action Community Meeting will be held on Thursday, July 16, from 5:30–7:00 PM at Halifax Community College, Building 800, Room 825 in Weldon. Please arrive a few minutes early, as the program will begin promptly at 5:30 PM.
This month's meeting features special guests from Main Street Edenton, who will share how North Carolina's Main Street Program helps communities revitalize downtowns, support local businesses, preserve historic character, and strengthen local economies. Main Street Edenton is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the vitality of historic downtown Edenton through leadership, collaboration, business development, and community engagement.
