Lights in the Night Returns to Downtown Weldon! 🎅🎄

Weldon In Action invites everyone to join us for the second annual Lights in the Night on Saturday, November 22 at 5:00 PM at Central Park in downtown Weldon.

This growing holiday tradition brings families and friends together to hang ornaments on the town tree while enjoying hot cocoa, cider, and festive treats.

After the decorating, Santa Claus will make a special appearance to greet the children, share Christmas stories, and lead the countdown to light the tree.

The evening promises laughter, holiday cheer, and a true sense of community spirit. Come celebrate the season with us!

Join us on November 1, 2025, for a day of celebration and community pride in Weldon, NC!

The day begins with the premier of a special documentary highlighting Weldon’s rich history at Halifax Community College at 10:00 a.m., featuring stories from residents and former residents. Festivities continue with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Ralph J. Bunche Park at 2:00 p.m., including music, vendors, and displays at West First and Water Streets.

This event is sponsored by Weldon In Action and promises to be a memorable day for all ages.

The Weldon Community Watch event is October 30 at 6pm at Town Hall, 109 Washington Avenue, Weldon NC. The program is lead by Officer Griffin. Each meeting she shares a topic of interest, listens to the concerns and ideas of citizens and works with citizens to establish safe practices in each of our neighborhoods. There are more and more people each session. Come see what it is all about!

Join us on October 11 at 9 am at the Ralph J. Bunche site to plant the park and get it ready for opening on November 1. Bring your garden gloves and and help us plant trees, shrubs, perennials and distribute mulch. If you have garden tools, please feel free to bring them, but make sure they are clearly labeled with your name on them so we can make sure they get back to you at the end of the planting.

We will likely be doing some prep work at the site between October 8-10 if you are interested in helping on any of those days.
