Meet the Maker: Star-Asia Smith-Walley of Star Designs

Freelance Art & Design | Roanoke Rapids, NC

Meet Star-Asia Smith-Walley, the creative powerhouse behind Star Designs. Based in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Star-Asia is a multifaceted freelance artist offering a wide range of digital and print design services—from custom logos, flyers, and business cards to photography, illustration, and more. Her work blends bold creativity with a practical, client-focused approach, making her a go-to source for entrepreneurs, individuals, and brands seeking standout visual solutions on any budget.

Launched in May 2022, Star Designs, LLC was born during a pivotal chapter in her life—while she was earning her Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from Elizabeth City State University, graduating in December 2022. Throughout her college years, she partnered with organizations like the Small Business and Technology Development Center and 1704 Media Productions, further refining her skills in Adobe Creative Suite and gaining hands-on experience in professional design environments.

Though Star Designs has since evolved from an LLC to a personal freelance brand, Star-Asia continues to offer her design services with the same passion and precision. Whether you're a business owner in need of branding or someone looking for a unique custom art piece, Star brings energy and style to every project. Distance is never an issue—she works with clients both online and in-person—and she also manages an online apparel shop and digital design store, adding even more versatility to her creative reach.

Her motto? Keep designing, keep growing, and keep making people smile through art.
