Weldon In Action: A Growing Movement for Weldon’s Future

On Wednesday, June 18th, community members gathered at Don Juan’s Mexican Restaurant for our dinner and discussion- an evening of good food, meaningful conversation, and shared commitment to Weldon’s future.

Weldon In Action is a grassroots coalition of current and former residents working to revitalize historic Weldon, NC. It began on July 8, 2021, sparked by a brainstorming session with former Mayor Julia Meacham and community momentum on Facebook.

Today, we’re focused on:

◾Reimagining public spaces like Ralph J. Bunche Park
◾Celebrating Weldon’s rich history and diversity
◾Partnering with residents to shape the town’s future
