Mr. Dock Monteria Brown, Sr. and Mrs. Helen Brooks Brown were extra special and well-known teachers at Ralph J. Bunche, Weldon High School, and Andrew Jackson Elementary School. After serving in the military, Mr. Brown taught and coached basketball at Ralph J. Bunche. Not only was he a teacher and coach, he worked in the Weldon Community with civil rights. Their students respected them both. Even after retirement, Mr. & Mrs. Brown often were often seen st Weldon High School and Andrew Jackson Elementary  working with young students and helping in whatever capacity they were needed. Mr. Brown served as a Weldon Town Commissioner for many years.
